Rich Haney
Fire Captain/Paramedic
I have been involved in the fire service since
1985 when I started for Clearlake Oaks Fire as
a volunteer firefighter. I received my EMT-1
certification in 1980 and started out working for
the private ambulance service in 1981. I
received my EMT-II certification in 1984,
Paramedic in 1989. I was the first Paramedic
for Clearlake Oaks Fire Department and helped
establish our current ambulance service in
1991. I have been full time paid for 10 years.

My current position is Fire Captain / Paramedic
/ Training Officer at the Clearlake Oaks Station.
My ongoing project since the summer of 2000
has been the establishing and operation of
Lake County’s first Fire Rescue Boat. I am
currently the Chief Operator and instructor for
Northshore Fire’s marine division.

On the side, I run a small Computer repair
business and also function as the IT Repair
Tech for Northshore Fire. My personal interests
include boating and water sports of course,
target shooting, camping, computing, aviation
and whatever cool games I can get for my
Playstation 3.
