Pat started his fire career in 1978 as a volunteer firefighter
with Lucerne Fire Department. He rose to the rank of Fire
Captain. Pat became one of the first EMT’s and started to
attend classes. He wanted to become a full time firefighter and
his dream came true in 1983.

Pat was hired by Santa Clara Fire Department – October 1983.
From the country to the city he graduated fire academy and
started a new career in one of the best trained and organized

dedicated commitment was required and continued with his
education and hard work.
In his 25 year very active career at SCFD, he worked major
structure fires, earthquakes, complex wild land fires, mass
casualty incidents and daily operations. He rose to the rank of
engineer working on both engine companies and truck
companies. His main drive was rescue work and the truck
companies operations.

A major change in his career started in 1998. He became a
rescue specialist for Urban Search and Rescue – California
Task Force 3. More training – deployments to major incidents
and a promotion to SCFD Fire Captain.   His career for the
City of Santa Clara was a dream come true.

Pat retired from SCFD as Captain on Truck 8 in 2008 and
returned to where he started. He is working part time as
Battalion Chief for NFPD.
Pat celebrated his 30th wedding anniversary with his wife,
family and friends in the new house / ranch that Marilyn and
Pat built when they returned to Lake County. He is still racing
his sailboat, chasing grand kids and working on future projects
for NFPD.
